What Comments

This past week two professional baseball players talked about the lack of African-American players in Major League Baseball.

Here is what Gary Sheffield had to say:

"I called it years ago. What I called is that you're going to see more black faces, but there ain't no English going to be coming out. … [It's about] being able to tell [Latin players] what to do -- being able to control them," he told the magazine.
"Where I'm from, you can't control us. You might get a guy to do it that way for a while because he wants to benefit, but in the end, he is going to go back to being who he is. And that's a person that you're going to talk to with respect, you're going to talk to like a man.
"These are the things my race demands. So, if you're equally good as this Latin player, guess who's going to get sent home? I know a lot of players that are home now can outplay a lot of these guys."
Here is a rebuttal to what Sheffield said by Torii Hunter:

"You go over to Latin America and you could buy a guy for $5,000. That’s the same guy from Compton, who you get in first round for a million dollars out of high school.

I think that it’s a business thing, not a race thing. Because it happens to African Americans, then it becomes a racial thing. I do agree that 10 years from now you are going to see no blacks (in MLB)."
Pretty powerful stuff that was said by these two, What are Your Thoughts:

My personal feelings is that baseball is not what everyone wants to play anymore and there are much more things to do that young people like to do like Basketball, Football, Video Games and many other activities that hold there interest the way that baseball used to be.

Baseball games these days are getting out of hand. At a MLB games these days there has to at least be a player or a coach getting ejected from a game. The umps should not be the deciding factor of the game.
Go Roger Clemens!

Becky,
Kenny Rogers had to play for the Mud hens because he's on DL (disable list) Since March 30 he undergo a surgery to remove a blood clot and had to repair two artieries in his left shoulder. He's a lefty. The Tigers NEED him back for some motivation on the pitching team
